US auto parts maker Federal-Mogul Corp is building a new facility in Chennai to make friction components from September 2009, it said in a statement late on Thursday.
The plant will make brake and friction components for light vehicles, commercial vehicles and railways for the local market as well as export, it said, but did not disclose financial details.
