The government is considering a proposal to consolidate auto component manufacturing units in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu into hubs through a range of sops including affordable land, cheaper electricity and other infrastructure. Vishakhapatnam, Coimbatore and Cochin have been identified as locations for auto component clusters.
