Paris auto show debuts have Indian roots

The Paris Motor Show opened on Thursday amid concerns over falling consumer confidence and diminishing car sales. And though Indian compani
es were conspicuous by their absence, the country was not missed as three global debuts at the Show — Suzuki’s Alto, Hyundai i20 and Nissan Pixo — would be solely manufactured in India to be sold globally. This shows the confidence of global auto players in Indian manufacturing.

Suzuki Alto that will hit the European markets only next year, will be produced at Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar plant and would hit the Indian roads by year-end. Here the car is known as A-Star. More
