Truck makers feel slowdown pinch

translated into higher sales for truck makers. .

Compounding their woes further, delinquencies for financiers, who avail the discounts from manufacturers, have risen sharply in the past couple of months, indicating harder times for the automobile industry.

According to sources, subventions — which are discounts offered by manufacturer to the financier and who in turn passes it to the customer — in some of the heavy commercial vehicles, have risen sharply to around Rs 50,000-1,00,000 per vehicle, from the earlier discount of Rs 15,000-30,000, in the past month alone.
