Demand for cars and two-wheelers seem to have hit the bottom of the barrel with sales sputtering by 20-40% in November. In cars, Maruti, which commands more than half the total market, saw local sales drop by nearly 27% to 47,704 units, compared to 65,216 unit sales in November last year.
It’s exports, though, were up nearly 12% at 4,483 units, helping the total tally somewhat. Combined local and export sales were down 24.4% at 52,711 units, compared to 69,699 units last November. More
