Bajaj Auto unveils restructuring plans for auto business

This programme will roll out from October, in 10-12 cities across the country, when we will begin selling such kits,” TVS Motor Company senior vice-president (sales and service) R Chandramouli said. He added that approximately 20% of buyers went in for enhancements, which they got done in the grey market, leading to a loss of the manufacturer’s warranty. These kits will be manufactured by TVS Motor, based on the research of its racing team, ensuring the manufacturer’s warranty remains intact. More

The board is expected to elect a new chairman, a new MD and a deputy managing director. Sources said the new chairman was likely to be AK Chaudhari, president of M&M’s farm-equipment division.
Mr Chaudhari and Mr B Mishra were appointed nominees to the board in May. More nominees from Mahindra are likely to be appointed on the PTL board after the crucial board meeting.

Anti-theft devices to be must for all vehicles from Oct
Published July 14th, 2007 in Maruti Udyog. 2 CommentsIndia has one of the world’s highest vehicle theft cases — with one being stolen every five minutes, as per the National Crime Records Bureau — and the total loss is estimated to be over Rs 1,000 crore by the industry. Passenger cars account for a major chunk of the loss with the ubiquitous white Maruti 800 and silver Santro being the most prone to theft.
To counter the growing menace — vehicle thefts have recorded an average increase of 25% in the past five years — the Automotive Industry Standards (AIS) will strap anti-theft devices in passenger cars and light trucks (up to two-tonners). The mandate has been finalised and is likely be notified in the next few months. More
