TVS bike sales dip 17 pc in November

TVS Motor Co, the country’s third largest two-wheeler maker, on Saturday reported a 17.08 per cent dip in motorcycle sales during November.

Bajaj Auto Ltd November motorcycle sales dip 2 pc

India’s second largest two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) on Saturday reported a two-per cent dip in its motorcycle sales during November at 2,09,876 units against 2,14,321 units in the same month last year.

The company’s total two-wheeler sales during the month dipped a marginal one per cent to 2,11,600 units (including exports) compared to 2,14,329 units in November last year, BAL said in a statement. More

TVS Flame to hit the road in Dec end

Legal hassles with rival Bajaj Auto have delayed the launch of TVS’ Flame motorcycle. The bike, which is currently the bone of contention between Bajaj and TVS, was originally supposed to be launched in November but will now come in December end.

“TVS wanted to launch the Flame in November but due to legal issues and diversion of engineering expertise to legal work, it will now be launched in December end,” said senior auto industry sources.

Maruti November sales up 24 pc; highest ever in a month

Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) on Saturday reported a 24 per cent jump in its car sales in the domestic market during November at 65,216 units against 52,574 units in the corresponding month last year.

Sales in November are MSIL’s highest ever in a single month, beating the previous best of 64,556 units achieved in March this year, MSIL said in a statement. More

Hero Honda November sales up 2.8 pc

India’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero Honda Motor Ltd (HHML) on Saturday reported a 2.8 per cent increase in its vehicle sales during November at 2,88,027 units compared to 2,80,171 units in the same month last year.

The company’s sales during the festive season this year stood at five lakh units, HHML said in a statement. More

Singur on German auto component makers? radar

Auto components manufacturers from the State of Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, are keen on setting up manufacturing facilities in West Bengal, and supply auto components and spares for the Tata Motors small car project that is being set up at Singur, 35 km from Kolkata.

This was stated here on Friday by Dr Hans-Dieter Roth, Commissioner for Industrial Locations, Baden-Wurttemberg International, an agency engaged in providing services for economic development and international co-operation.

Dr Roth was in Kolkata as part of a 17-member business delegation comprising representatives of nine small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from the State of Baden-Wurttemberg. More
