General Motors ties-up with IIT Kharagpur for research

The partners also announced that a new educational curriculum would be jointly developed leading to a post-graduate degree in these fields. More

Yamaha launches sports bikes; aims at bigger market share
Published December 4th, 2007 in Bikes. 0 CommentsJapanese motorbike maker Yamaha, which did not have any major success in the Indian market, is aiming to accelerate its market share here with the launch of its cult sport bikes 1,680 cc engine powered MT01 and 998 cc YZF R1 priced at Rs 10.5 lakh each (ex-showroom).
The company, which operates in the domestic market through a wholly -owned subsidiary Yamaha Motor India (YMI), is banking heavily on these to products to revive fortunes in the Indian two- wheeler market where it has been reduced to a marginal player with a little over three per cent market share. Mahindra has no objection to Bajaj-Renault car project
Published December 4th, 2007 in Bajaj auto and Mahendra&Mahendra. 0 CommentsMahindra and Mahindra on Monday said it had no objections to its partner Renault tying up with the country?s largest two wheeler maker, Bajaj Auto, for its small car venture. However, the French auto partner hadn?t asked for a no-objection certificate, said the Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Anand Mahindra.
Renault, which has a joint venture with Mahindra, is conducting a feasibility study for a $3,000 small car project in partnership with Bajaj Auto. ?Renault did not approach us for a no-objection certificate but we have no problem with its tie-up with Bajaj,? said Mr Mahindra, on the sidelines of the India Economic Summit.
