The four-seater steel-bodied hatch-back resembling Hyundai Santro and Daewoo Matiz would zip through Indian roads from April 14, Managing Director of Bavina Industries S.Rajasekhar told PTI here today.
The fully-loaded version of the car costs around Rs.2.5 lakh and boasts of facilities, including AC, power window and centralized locking, like any other small, premium hatch-back. More

Tata group and Mahindra & Mahindra are two of the front-runners for acquisition of Jaguar and Land Rover, along with a private equity bidder - One Equity ? that is led by a former Ford CEO.
While Tatas and M&M are believed to have an upper hand in the race, according to a media report here, the Jaguar dealers of the US are in favour of the One Equity bid. The Wall Street Journal quoted chairman of the Jaguar Business Operations Council Ken Gorin as saying that the two brands should not be sold to the Indian bidders. More

The small car from Tata Motor’s stable will make its way into smaller towns where the company does not have a marketing network.
“We are upgrading our offices in smaller towns in districts where we currently sell only commercial vehicles to accommodate the Tata small car,” Tata Motors dealer, Lexus Motors Ltd director Binod Agarwal said here today. More

Bajaj Auto on Saturday launched a “highly fuel efficient and low emission” autorickshaw model powered by Gasoline Direct Injection (GDi) engine with prices starting from Rs 92,000.
“The RE-GDi delivers a substantial 33 per cent better fuel efficiency than the conventional RE autorickshaw and drastically reduces emissions with virtually no visible smoke. The emissions are also comparable or lower than the alternate clean fuel engines using LPG/CNG,” company Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj told a press conference here. More
