Car sales rev up 9% in January, bikes skid 14% to 4,81,267 units

Automobile sales remained sluggish in the New Year, even though companies postponed major price hikes and rolled out huge discounts to lure customers to their showrooms.

The new year failed to ring in cheers for the automobile industry with the overall domestic vehicle sales in January witnessing a dip of 7.67 per cent at 8,29,569 units as against 8,98,444 units in the same month last year. Read more
