Satyam auto team?s new level

Satyam Computer today announced that its Automotive Embedded Engineering Practice has achieved the Pathfinder Organisational Maturity Level 5, an assessment that reflects company?s process maturity. Automobile sales hits record high in Brazil

Automobile sales hit a record high of 248,945 units in April in Brazil, the National Motor Vehicle Distribution Federation said on Friday.

The federation also said 866,463 vehicles were sold in the January-April period, up 35.6 percent from the same period in 2007. More

‘India to steer light vehicles market’

India is poised to emerge as fourth-largest light vehicle market in the world by 2014, riding on low-cost cars, according to a survey. And, a double digit demand growth will push India ahead of countries like Germany, Russia and Brazil, it added.

Sales of light vehicles or those below 3.5-tonne GVW (gross vehicle weight) would experience a 16% compound annual growth rate till 2014 on the back of new launches, particularly in the mini car (like Tata Nano) segment, said USbased automotive market forecasting firm CSM Worldwide.

Kesoram plans to raise tyre output capacity at Uttarakhand unit

Kesoram Industries has decided to further expand radial tyre production capacity by 100 tonne per day (tpd) and cross-ply or bias tyres by 125 tpd at its unit in Uttarakhand at an estimated cost of Rs 840 crore.

The company board had approved the proposal setting commercial production timeline for the new project by early 2010. More
