Manufacturers geared up for the Delhi Auto Expo ‘08

Auto giants like Skoda, Volkswagen, Fiat, Yamaha, are all expected to participate in the Expo. Apart from a bevy of high-profile launches, the 9th Auto Expo, which will be held in New Delhi from 10 January to 17 January, will also see a record number of automobile and component makers, informatics firms and dealers from India and all over the world put their products on display.
Tata Motors is expected to unveil the much-awaited Rs.1-lakh car, which has been the subject of much debate recently and is now being called the Peoples Car by the company. Skoda car prices may go up by Rs 20,000

A hike of up to Rs 20, 000 is expected on all models. The new pricing for Skoda cars would be applicable from January 1, 2008.
?Input costs are negotiated on an annual target achievement basis with our vendors and the increase in prices is in line with our renegotiated terms with them. The company has made efforts to keep the price rise marginal on all models after having analysed the additional costs,? said a company release here. More

Skoda India to launch hatchback Fabia in India soon

“One of the products that has been eagerly awaited and will soon hit the Indian market is the ‘Fabia’. Skoda India is taking measured steps to introduce the Fabia with latest technologies and competitive pricing,” the company said in a release.
Skoda India today completed six years of operations in the country and has so far sold 47,000 units. More

Maruti, GM report rise
Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported a 15 per cent increase in domestic sales in October. Maruti?s exports grew at 20.8 per cent with sales at 5157 units, faster than its growth in the domestic market. With encouraging domestic sales of SX4, its A3 segment including Esteem grew at a faster pace of 54.7 per cent with sales at 4,177 units. The A2 segment, largest in terms of volume which includes models like Alto, WagonR, Swift and Estilo, grew 20.9 per cent at 47,077 units. More

Skoda India, on Wednesday, announced the launch of Laura Ambiente, a new variant of its best selling model Laura. Priced at Rs. 13.21 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi), the new variant that comes in diesel version has 1.7 PD TDI engine.
The new variant has been equipped with added safety features such as two airbags, traction control system (ABS and ASR), rear-parking sensors, and automatic wipers with rain sensors.
