Chennai-based TVS Motor Co on Monday launched its controversial 125 cc motorcycle ‘Flame’, which has been accused by rival Bajaj Auto of infringing upon its patented technology, with a modified engine.
The company introduced the bike, priced at Rs 46,000 (ex-showroom across the country), with a single spark ignition engine based on Controlled Combustion Variable Timing Intelligent (CC-VTi) technology. Read more

Talking to reporters after launching TVS King 200cc three-wheeler, company chairman Venu Srinivasan said: Next year we will launch a sub-one-tonne goods carrier. A diesel-powered three-wheeler will also be launched.
He also said the company would launch a gearless scooter, a segment that is logging growth even when the motorcycles are registering slide in sales.
We are targeting 30 percent market share in eighteen months time. The market size is around 1.8 million units per year, said H.S. Goindi, senior vice-president, international business and three-wheelers, TVS Motors. Read more

TVS Motor plans to rekindle Flame with another engine
Published February 23rd, 2008 in Tvs motor. 0 CommentsTVS Motor, India’s third-largest two-wheeler maker, which was restrained from making its 125 cc Flame or three-wheelers based on the controlled combustion variable timing intelligent (CCVTi) engine technology, might launch the bike with a different engine.
This comes after the Madras High Court restrained the company from manufacturing, marketing and selling Flame or the CCVTi technology. While TVS Motors will continue the legal battle and is filing a fresh appeal with the divisional bench of the Madras High Court, sources in the automobile industry say that TVS Motors plans to bring in Flame with another engine. TVS Motor Company launched its first electric scooter Scooty Teenz Electric, reports Economic Times.
Scooty Teenz Electric will save about 15-20% of customers` money in comparison to a petrol-run scooter. The vehicle generates an average range of 40 km per nine hours of charge. This can increase by 50% if the rider opts for lower speed of 20-25 km. Read more
