On 19 July a contest titled “Can you put words into my mouth?” was announced on Ouchmytoe.com.

In spite of the measly prize money (Rs 500)…the responses have overshot the condition I had set by 40% and the post ended up with 42 comments. Makes me wonder if I should start contributing to the wealth of my readers (Ouchmytoe have been contributing to their health for a long time now – laughter is medicine, they said – remember?)

As promised I have made a list of top 13 sentences which could fit in as a good speech bubble for this picture (shown somewhere on this page)…now can you please give your vote?

The poll closes at 12 noon on 4 August, 2007. The sentence which leads in votes at that time will be announced winner. Thereafter, I will get in touch with the winner…get his or her address and courier the DD worth Rs 500. Phew!

The crime rate in Chennai is on the rise. And I am sure it is the same all over the country. Looks like we are on our way to being a Super Power. Don’t ask me what the police or the judiciary is doing. Obviously, they are not being as smart as the criminals. Here’s to the criminal in all of us….

It is very true that the rich are less generous than the poor. The best example lies in the tip that we leave for the waiter, once the meal is over. A good tip will be/should be 15% of the cost of the bill. I know that is on the higher side, but that is the way it works.
I do not leave a great tip…about Rs 10 for every hundred…at the max…which means I should have dinned with a girl, who agreed to come home….. It is a no-brainer, that this does not happen with me…hence I always end up paying much less.

No wonder, I keep getting hints from the waiters wherever I go. Esp if I am going to a restaurant for the second time. They seem to say, “Ok, last time was not a great harvest, how about tipping me appropriately this time.”

Here is one such incident….a little exaggerrated.

Sify had just then come up with Sify Blogs and in an attempt to populate the blogs, all editors were asked to start blogging. I started one on Indian Sports and another on Cricket. A few others weren’t as lucky - they had to blog on Nano Technology and Chip Making etc. No…I am just kidding.

I was missing Holi. Life in Northern India during Holi means a totally different thing. Here in Tamil Nadu we are a little conservative…and Holi is well…just spraying ink behind the back of people wearing white shirts!
