Barnwell, Badree keen to make an impact

West Indies allrounder Christopher Barnwell, who is back in the national Twenty20 side after 17 months, has said he is eager to make an impact against Zimbabwe in the two T20I matches in Antigua this weekend.

Barnwell made his debut against Pakistan in 2011 and was dropped later that year after featuring in four matches. He has been recalled after a successful Caribbean T20 season, where he produced several match-winning efforts for runners-up Guyana. Barnwell scored 245 runs in eight matches and also took six wickets.

“I had a very good Caribbean T20 and I’m confident I will do well here against Zimbabwe,” Barnwell said. “I feel I am in the right frame of mind and in good form with the bat and ball. I brought Guyana out of some difficult situations when the pressure was on, and I believe I can transfer those kinds of performances the international level, once I get the opportunity.”Read more
