Shane Watson is back in Australia’s squad as an opening batsman for the remaining one-day matches against the West Indies, with selectors electing not to send him in an advance party departing for the tour of India.
Cricket Australia said on Monday that vice-captain Watson will make his international return in the third one-dayer on Wednesday in Canberra, replacing Usman Khawaja. Australia has won the first two matches of the five-match series.
The injury-prone Watson has played a Sydney club game and an interstate one-dayer as he continues his comeback from calf muscle problems. Read more
