Worcestershire v Kent: Rain prevents Tom Fell century

Rain prevented Worcestershire’s Tom Fell from reaching his maiden first-class century and saw his side’s match with Kent end in a draw at New Road.

The hosts resumed on 241-7 with Oxford University student Fell unbeaten on 75.

He put on 126 for the eighth wicket with Jack Shantry (54), who fell to James Tredwell to give him 5-51 – his best Championship figures since 2011.

Rain set in shortly after lunch with Worcestershire on 284-8, and Fell stranded on a career-best 94 not out. Read more
