Opener Shikhar Dhawan made the fastest debut hundred in Test history as India responded superbly to Australia’s first innings of 408 in Mohali.

The left-hander made 185 runs unbeaten, more than filling the aggressive void left by Virender Sehwag’s absence as India reached 283-0.

Dhawan was ably supported by Murali Vijay, who made 83.

The tourists were earlier bowled out for 408, with Mitchell Starc out for 99. Read more
