CLT20: Rajasthan Royals opt to field in rain-delayed contest vs Mumbai Indians

Rahul Dravid, the Rajasthan Royals captain, won the toss and elected to field against Mumbai Indians in the opening clash of the main draw in the Champions League Twenty20 2013 at Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday (September 21).

A packed house welcomed the captains at the toss, which was delayed by 15 minutes due to a sharp shower that started a couple of hours before the scheduled start. “It’s been under the covers a bit and with the rain around, thought we’ll bowl first and restrict them,” explained Dravid.

Unlike Mumbai, who are spoilt for choice, Rajasthan had just five foreigners to choose from and Dravid said Shaun Tait’s groin niggle made it a straightforward decision while picking the playing eleven.
