Warner reprimanded for showing dissent
David Warner, the Australia batsman, has received an official reprimand after pleading guilty to a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during the Sydney ODI against Sri Lanka on Sunday.
Warner had stood his ground after being given out lbw in the 29th over, before eventually leaving while shaking his head. Replays showed Warner had got an inside edge to a Thisara Perera delivery before it struck him on the pad. The lone review available to Australia had already been used unsuccessfully by Michael Clarke earlier.
Warner was found to have breached Article 2.1.3 of the Code which relates to “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match”. Read more
