Symonds steers Hyderabad to win

Andrew Symonds starred with bat and ball as Hyderabad defeated Delhi by 10 runs in the Indian Premier League in Cuttack.

Rohit Sharma top-scored with a belligerent 45 and Symonds made 35, while Herschelle Gibbs (31) and Tirumalasetti Suman (29 not out) chipped in with useful contributions in Hyderabad’s total of 171 for six after Adam Gilchrist chose to bat first.

David Warner weighed in with a fiery 57 and Dinesh Karthik made 46, but Symonds claimed three for 21 and Delhi lost their nerve in a close finish, eventually falling short. Read more
