1st Test, Day 3: India vs Australia statistical highlights
India’s charge on Day 3 of the opening Test was led by MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli who slammed centuries to make Australia struggle through the day.
# India (515/8) have recorded their highest total against Australia at Chepauk, eclipsing the 501 in 2000-01.
# Overall, the aforesaid total is India’s fifth highest at Chepauk (their sixth of 500-plus) – the highest is 627 against South Africa in March 2008.
# Sachin Tendulkar took his run-aggregate at Chepauk to 957 at an average of 87.00 in ten Tests – the second highest tally at this venue, next only to Sunil Gavaskar’s 1018 at an average of 59.88 in 12 Tests.Read more
