Dhoni, with his 97-ball 139*, utterly crushed the African XI bowlers as the Asians made 331/8.
If the Africans thought they could earn a consolation victory after half the Asian side fell for just 72, they were wrong. Mahela Jayawardene, who walked in at No 6, was joined by Dhoni in the 17th over and then ensued a stunning turnaround as the Asians added 259 runs in the next 33 overs. Though the figures might suggest otherwise, it was not just about ruthless hitting.
