de Villiers and Boucher build on overnight score

Patron’s XI suffered another demanding session in the Karachi heat but managed to pick up two late wickets as the South Africans added 107 runs to their overnight score, going in to lunch on the second day at 401 for 7.

Mark Boucher and AB de Villiers resumed in promising fashion after Taufeeq Umar, the Patron’s XI captain, opted to take the new ball straight away. Desperate for early breakthroughs, Anwar Ali and Uzair-ul-Haq bowled with an attacking field - two slips and two gullies - but failed to trouble the batsmen. Read more
