Tendulkar out for a duck; rain halts play

An exceptional knock of 130 by Michael Clarke guided Australia to 307-7 against India here on Saturday.

Having decided to bat first on a hard pitch, Australia lost their top order early but a strong resistance by Clarke in the company of Brad Haddin boosted the total.

To start with, a fine spell from S Sreesanth on a placid pitch gave India the edge in the opening match of the Future Cup at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium but then Clarke’s 132-ball knock, which was studded with 10 fours and three sixes, came to the rescue of his team as he added a valuable 144 runs with Haddin to take control of the situation.
