Clarke shines in abandoned one-dayer in India

Michael Clarke’s career-best knock went in vain as rains forced the abandonment of the first one-day international between India and Australia.

The 26-year-old clobbered 10 fours and three sixes in his 130-run innings to propel Australia to an imposing 307 for seven in 50 overs in the day-night game.

India were nine for one in reply in 2.4 overs, with key batsman Sachin Tendulkar back in the pavilion for a duck, when heavens opened. Read more
