India’s first aeroplane fashion show

Security checks, baggage claims, running to catch the flight before it takes off without you…This is what you can usually expect from a stop at the airport. But models, including showstopper Rahul Khanna, dressed in tailored menswear stepping out from an aeroplane that’s casually parked beside a fashion ramp? That’s another kind of trip altogether.

With the launch of their new menswear line, X Lifestyle, clothing label Van Heusen hosted a fashion show last night in the unlikeliest of places — the Jet Airways hangar at Mumbai’s domestic airport. A choice made even more surreal with the music punctuated by the roar of planes taking off only about 500 metres away.Read more
