Namibia: Chakira, Cathy, Mcbright and Nikola Represent Namibia at Fashion Show

Chakirra Claasen, Cathy Tshikesho, Mc Bright Kavari and Nikola Conradie are the four Namibian among eleven designers featuring in the first ever Namibia Fashion Show which promises to be a spectacular event.

Chakirra is a proudly Namibian designer who owns Kiswa Designs and is associated with Pambili Young Designers. Her designs experiments a lot with ondelela and shwe-shew textiles associated with fashion design in Southern Africa. However, when using these textiles her designs are very simplistic, thus highlighting the prints on the textile. In 2009 she was selected as one of the top ten finalist from 60 upcoming designers from all over Africa to represent Namibia at FIMA known to be one for the greatest platforms for African designers.

Cathy is a proudly Namibian designer from Onelago village who holds a diploma in Applied Arts Fashion Design. She owns the label Urban Glam Designs. Probably one of Namibia’s most creative designers, she describes her designs as cocktail wear catering more for the young independent women.Read more
