Haute Stuff: Behind the 2012 Hospice Fashion Show

On a crisp, sunny November morning I arrived at the home of Greg Tinder, founder of Tsarevich Couture in Northport. Tinder has been a furrier extraordinaire in the local area for years now and is one of the minds behind the Haute for Hospice benefit fashion show, a night of local fashion and fun, the proceeds of which go to the Hospice volunteers of Waldo County.

On this particular fall morning, I found Tinder in his studio working side-by-side with his friend and apprentice, Bonnie Cavanagh Reppucci, who is also one of the featured designers at the show. The two have been working diligently on the event for months, measuring, sewing and stitching every detail of the night, the result of which they hope will be an incredibly professional and glamorous showcase of local designers and their pieces. A smashing success that follows in the well-loved footsteps of the past hospice fashion shows.

Tinder helmed the event in 2005 and 2008, so he is no stranger to the incredible amount of hard work behind arranging this event. He works tirelessly for months in advance planning, designing and executing a show rife with sophistication and fraught with high-end couture.Read more
