Karl Lagerfeld to Design Luxury Jelly Shoes for Melissa

The German designer will create a collection of jelly shoes in a collaborative project with the most fashionable plastic shoe brand, Melissa.

Many designers have already worked with the Brazil-based company. Vivienne Westwood, Jason Wu, Jean Paul Gaultier and Gareth Pugh, and several others have added their own unique twist on the comfy and colorful jelly shoes. Lagerfeld, considerably the most iconic designer out of all those who have already collaborated, is sure to create a stellar collection.

Paulo Pedó, Melissa’s chief executive officer, called the Lagerfeld collaboration, “one of the most exciting collaborations the company has ever seen.” Pier Paolo Righi, CEO of the Karl Lagerfeld label, announced on Monday (Dec. 3), “We are very excited about the partnership with Melissa who have been great in translating Karl’s inspirations and designs into truly ironic fun fashion products that many women in the world will happily wear.”Read more
