Yoko Ono talks about her Lennon-inspired menswear collection

Yoko Ono recently tried her hand at fashion. The Daily Star reported on Dec. 2 that the 80-year-old artist and activist launched a ready-to-wear menswear line. Called “Fashions for Men,” the collection is based off sketches Ono drew in 1969. Ono gave the sketches to her famous husband, John Lennon, as a wedding present.

Ono’s menswear collection includes clothing, accessories and shoes. However, it’s not your typical menswear line. Yoko Ono’s collection includes hot pink fishnet shirts and tight pants with hand prints on the crotch. Ono spoke to The Daily Star about her inspiration for the edgy line:

“I was inspired to create ‘Fashions for Men,’ amazed at how my man was looking so great. I felt it was a pity if we could not make clothes emphasizing his very sexy bod,” Ono said in a statement. “So, I made this whole series with love for his hot bod, and gave it to him as a wedding present.” Read more
