Prabal Gurung’s super-sized high street debut

Prabal Gurung has a monstrous project waiting to debut, and it’s causing a stir already.

The Nepalese American designer is readying an 80-piece collection for American mass retailers Target, which will hit stores in time for summer.

While most other designers choose to create capsule limited editions for their high street collaborations (remember Maison Martin Margiela for H&M), Gurung has taken the word mass to heart.

It might not shock you to learn that the collection is dominated by florals, but the heartening news is that it’s anything but run-of-the-mill.

Graphic flora and watercolour roses share space on jackets, trousers, dresses and skirts, with plenty of attention being paid to matching shoes and stilettos.Read more
