Designer Naeem Khan to show in India

It’s expected to be a high point in the 2013 fashion calendar. Hollywood red carpet favourite, designer Naeem Khan is scheduled to show in Mumbai at Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) Summer/Resort 2013 this March.

The masterstroke orchestrated by organisers IMG Reliance and Lakmé India is aimed at re-energising the bi-annual fashion week, whose mandate is to “integrate India into the global fashion world” but who have fallen short of that promise with frequent changes in management at LFW.

Last season’s finale, usually the high point of the five-day event, even saw designers Pankaj and Nidhi being accused of ripping off a Givenchy Couture design. Perhaps, the presence of the New York-based designer of Indian origin will erase all doubts surrounding the property’s dedication to promoting Indian fashion globally.Read more
