Child models gear up for the first Global Kids Fashion Week in London

What did children on fashion shoots do before the iPad? Curled up under over-sized towelling robes, their hair scraped back into impossibly high ponytails, new best friends Sienna and Melody (both eight) and Poppie (seven) are glued to the screen extracting teeth from Vito, their virtual patient in an app called Beauty Dentist.

They are here to be photographed to promote the first Global Kids Fashion Week, a two-day children’s fashion showcase in London. Rails are twinkling with neon party dresses, impeccably cut jackets and urban sportswear, but nothing, not even the pink leopard-print sneakers, can deter the girls from the task of improving Vito’s smile. ‘You have to drill all of the bad stuff out of his teeth before it gets too painful,’ Sienna says with glee.Read more
