Namibia: Tsatago, a Successful Fashion Designer

Article Views (non — Local fashion designer, Tsatago Immanuel //Garoëb, made a name for himself as the best fashionable artist, by designing different styles of garments that caught many an eye.

His love for fashion started at a tender age inspired by his mother immensely.

“I completed my high school at the DHPS, one of the finest schools in the country, after which I spend almost two and half years in the United Kingdom (UK), on a working holiday programme. This trip to the UK was a way of me quenching my thirst for travel and experiencing new cultures and people,” says Tsatago.

In 2009, after he completed his third year in Fashion and Textile design at the University of Namibia (Unam), he took a one year break from his studies and pursuing his career in designing. “I am blessed to have the family and friends that supports me whole-heartedly. The designing industry is just like any other business, which will give a return depending on the investment that you as the designer lay into it. In Namibia the main medium for a young designer to put their name out there is through word of mouth. Like Heidi Klum, says in Project Runway hosted recently in the capital and I quote; ‘In fashion the one minute you are in and the next you are out!’” says Tsatago.Read more
