When it comes to bling, there’s an old adage that still rings true: While jewelry fads come and go, diamonds are still a girl’s best friend.
“One thing that’s timeless and something that every woman wants is a good pair of diamond studs,” said Sonia Kierce, a jewelry consultant at Beré Jewelers in Gulf Breeze. “They never seem to go out of style.”
But there are some new jewelry trends: big fashion watches, dazzling inside/outside hoop earrings and dark and colorful pearls.
And for jewelry lovers such as 26-year-old Laura Russell, diamonds are indeed an easy favorite.
“My favorite piece of jewelry is my engagement ring,” said Russell, who had her stone set by jewelers at Elebash’s in Pensacola. “I’ve always loved jewelry —— I used to like costume jewelry, but what I like most now are diamonds and pearls.”
