Fashion Design Education at LIFT
The institute that nurtures creativity and originality to make a niche for future fashion professionals is the vision of the premiere fashion education institute in the country – Lanka Institute of Fashion Technology (LIFT) . Since its inception in August 2000 LIFT committed its focus towards fashion education that brought various carrier options for budding designers. The courses offered at LIFT covers the central areas of visual studies, costume history, fashion illustration, Pattern making, garment manufacturing, design development, presentation skills, Computer aided design with the support of Lectra, textiles, embroidery, Fashion styling, Fashion business studies and portfolio development. As per the requirement of the student’s one could select the one year Diploma in Fashion Design course or the two year Advanced diploma in Fashion. The availability of week end classes allows employed individuals to continue their studies on Saturdays to gain knowledge and professional qualifications.
