Nick Knight blasts fashion industry
Nick Knight thinks the fashion industry is racist. The photographer claims the profession is geared towards white models, and is unhappy that some industry professionals are reluctant to work with black models. He said: ‘I’ve always I’ve always found the fashion industry to be extremely racist, to the point that I don’t know how they get away with it. When I first started I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, ‘We can’t have a black model – they’re not aspirational.’ You can’t say that!’ Supermodel Naomi Campbell agrees with Nick, previously claiming she wasn’t given as much work as other models because of her skin colour.
