Acra shows its new attitude
Reem Acra, the Lebanese-American designer best known for her elegant evening wear and lush bridal collections, is treading — and threading — new ground: a younger fashionista, she says on the phone from New York.
Witness her spring 2010 collection, referred to as “riotous” by many a fashion writer who saw it at New York Fashion Week. Nodding to the 40th anniversary of Woodstock, the uptown hippie collection was a magical mystery tour of sorts.
With floral-print wrap dresses and other dresses fluidly draped in bright colors, plus kaleidoscopic prints and camouflage-inspired pants, it should appeal to fans of the city chic, boho look.
