Fashion’s the thing
Another late-September event will draw big international names to Pittsburgh. But black-masked “anarchists” should find little worth in attempting to disrupt it.
Rather, expect the debut of Pittsburgh Fashion Week in 2010 to bring a welcome spotlight and help local talent advance in the world of high style.
Three and a half years in planning, this event aims to do for Pittsburgh what similar events have done for years for such cities as New York, Dallas and Miami. Set for Sept. 27 through Oct. 3, Pittsburgh Fashion Week will compete with simultaneous counterparts in Paris and Milan — and can do so successfully by emphasizing uniquely Pittsburgh aspects and unique opportunities for Pittsburghers.
