Award-winning Taiwanese fashion designer speaks of future plans

Award-winning Taiwanese fashion designer, Johan Ku, said that he may create his own brand under his name in the future, while revealing a plan to fly home to Taiwan for a short visit in mid-December to hold a presentation of his works.

Ku, owner of the Johan Ku Design Studio, recently won the top prize in the Avant-Garde design category of the 2009 Gen Art’s Styles International Design Competition, with one of his 2004 designs — a knitted one-piece wool dress that highlights the delicacy of the yarn and displays creative patterns.

The 30-year-old attended the award ceremony in midtown Manhattan on Wednesday. He will fly back to London, where he is studying art, on Saturday to continue studying at the Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design. Read more
