Spectator watches over Lodi fashion
For the past 25 years, Kay Mettler has made Spectator the anchor of Wine Country Plaza on Kettleman Lane.
A pillar of the mall since it was built, the boutique shop features upscale brands such as Lafayette 148, Eileen Fisher and Brighton. Often, the fashions she carries are found in few other places in San Joaquin County. She said offering such merchandise and bending over backwards for her customers are what have made her business a success.
For almost two decades, Spectator has been a retailer of Brighton jewelry
, handbags and a variety of other accessories, including belts and luggage. Spectator was the first store in San Joaquin County to carry the popular New York brand, and it is one of the store’s most consistent sellers. Mettler said she is constantly striving to find the balance between what’s fashionable and what’s over the top.
