Galaxy S4 Is Samsung’s Fastest-Selling Smartphone

Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S4 has been selling faster than any of its predecessors in the top-selling smartphone line-up.

“As of the end of April, we supplied four million Galaxy S4 handsets to telecommunication operators around the world,” an executive at the company said on Friday.

Samsung officially unveiled its latest handset on April 26 and had supplied 4 million units worldwide within five days. In contrast, it took 85 days for the company to shift 3 million of its S1 handsets, 55 days to do the same for the S2, and 21 days for the S3.Read more

The Lumia 928 is available in white or black at Verizon Wireless stores and online, beginning Thursday for $99 after a $50 mail-in rebate.
Handset manufacturer Nokia announced the impending launch of the Lumia 928 smartphone, the latest installment in the company’s Windows Phone 8 lineup, which will be an exclusive to Verizon Wireless and will debut in the United States May 16.

The handset features a 4.5-in. Samsung Electronics announced Sunday it developed world`s first core technology that allows transmission of large volume data in a fifth generation mobile environment. 5G is a next generation mobile network that is hundreds of times faster than the current 4G mobile technologies including Long Term Evolution and allows the transmission of ultrahigh definition movie in one second.

Samsung Electronics said, “We have developed technology that can transmit data at speeds more than 1 Gigabyte (transmitting 1 billion bits of data) per second via an ultrahigh frequency waveband of 28GHz at a distance of up to 2 kilometers.” The world`s first technology capable of transmitting and receiving Gigabit-level data in the ultra-high frequency of more than 6 Gigahertz has been developed. Best Buy is promoting the launch of its Samsung Experience shops, a store within a store concept which places all of Samsung’s mobile products in a central location with a sales rep from the vendor on hand. The retailers is touting Samsung’s Galaxy S4 in particular, in new mailings to customers about the Experience openings.
