Sony and games distributor Wild Tangent have teamed up to launch what they are calling a new gaming app store for Xperia phones
Some WildTangent games come pre-installed on Sony laptops and the like, but this would create more of an app store, with thousands of games to choose from, curated from various developers and publishers. We’re told it would be ‘realistic’ to compare it to the Google Play or App store, though without quite such a hefty back catalogue. Read more

Speculations regarding Nokia selling off its mobile handset division have been doing the rounds for the last couple of years. Nokia on its part has always denied these rumours as it marched on to launch its much-awaited Windows-based smartphones.

There are so many Android smartphones on the market such as the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the HTC One, but if you have lack of pennies in the bank and only can afford a certain amount then top handsets are out of the question unless you get them on contract. We do not normally like phones that sort of copy top names like HTC and Samsung but seeing as it is getting near to opening presents we would like you to take a look at the ThL W1 cost effective Android phone for Christmas.
The ThL W1 is on sale right now via Chinavasion for only £118.11, if you buy more than 3 it will cost £108.19 and the more you buy the cheaper each handset gets. The Branded ThL W1 runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and provides a nice 1GHz Dual Core CPU and 1GB, this is not what you call a very bad Android phone because it has some good features considering the price. The 4.3-inch qHD screen with a 960×540 resolution is not bad for watching movies or playing games on.Read more

With 4G technology, the new Apple iPhone 5 is just as fast as the fastest Android phone, but results of Consumer Reports’ latest tests show there are still plenty of differences.
In a recent TV commercial, Samsung makes fun of Apple fans, claiming that Android phones have had better features and capabilities than the iPhone 5 for ages.
Back in the labs, Consumer Reports put all the phones through their paces, assessing each one’s features and options.

Fans of the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone who prefer the classic black color over the Pebble Blue and Marble White launch colors or the Garnet Red available to AT&T subscribers may have hope.
The black-colored Samsung Galaxy S III has been spotted on the Carphone Warehouse’s internal stocking database along with the blue and white colors. Carphone Warehouse is a large phone retailer in the UK on which the launch colors of Samsung’s flagship device for 2012 have been spotted prior to the launch. Thus, it carries some credibility. On the other hand, there is some chance of course that it can be a hoax or an error since Samsung has neither confirmed nor denied the rumor. However, to add fuel to the Carphone Warehouse database rumor, photos of a black Samsung Galaxy S III have been found on the Samsung Mobile Facebook page as part of their Olympics Games 2012 promotion. Suddenly, the conventional wisdom that social and mobile gaming was all about keeping it short and simple looks all wrong. The lasting money may be in making complex, difficult, and exciting games that take a long time to play.
On Wednesday, Zynga reported a dramatic second-quarter loss, marked by a severe drop in players for hit casual games like FarmVille and a 10 percent drop from a year ago on daily average revenue booked per user.
The point of Farmville, and other Zynga games like CityVille, was how unchallenging they are: You plow some digital ground, you sow some digital seeds, you reap some digital vegetation. You tell everybody you know on Facebook about it. Rinse, repeat. It was, at least for a time, nearly addictive to millions of people.Read more
