If you caught the Bond movie Skyfall recently, you may have noticed the shiny Xperia T that 007 was using. Well, the bad news is Sony won’t be selling that particular handset in Singapore. Strangely enough, the company is branding the 4G Xperia V as the “Bond phone” and selling it instead.
Sporting a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and loaded with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), the Xperia V looks to be quite a promising handset. Other specifications include a 4.3-inch HD (1,280 x 720 pixels) display, as well as also dust and water resistance (IP57).
While it only has 8GB of storage, the Xperia V does come with a microSD card slot so you won’t have to worry about running out of space playing PlayStation Mobile games (the V sports PlayStation Certification, too). A 13-megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p video rounds up the feature set. Read more

One of our readers from Bulgaria contacted the local Samsung branch, asking if the two smartphones will be getting Android 4.0 ICS. The surprise response was that the Galaxy Ace 2 and the Galaxy S Advance will be skipping on the Ice Cream Sandwich release and will be upgraded directly to Jelly Bean.Read more

While many fans of Apple products in China are eagerly awaiting the debut of Apple Inc.’s iPhone 5, an ice cream named after the latest piece of must-have technology has already conquered young people in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province. The iPhone 5 ice cream hit stores in April, it resembles the Apple logo and has a phone printed on its wrapping.
“The target customers of iPhone and our ice cream are the same — young people who are stylish and fashionable. So we want to make use of iPhone’s big influence to attract more customers,” said Gao Yuxin, head of the marketing center of Deshi Group, the producer of the ice cream.
The ice cream is now a bestseller.
“I can sell about 50 Apple ice creams per day, while only selling about 10 of other brands. Most of the buyers are young people,” said Zhou Duo, owner of a small shop in Shenyang.
