Swipe has launched two new 5-inch smartphone in the Indian market – Swipe Fablet F2 and Swipe Fablet F3. Priced at Rs. 7,590 Swipe Fablet F2 comes with a 1GHz processor and 256MB of RAM. It comes with a 5-inch WVGA Capacitive Multi-Touch Screen. It packs in a 5-megapixel camera at the back and a 0.3-megapixel one in the front.
Swipe Fablet F2 runs on the dated Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread). The device comes with a 2,200 mAh battery, which as per company claims gives uninterrupted entertainment of up to 6 hours. The phablet comes with 4 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32 GB. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB.
The dimensions of Swipe Fablet F2 are 145.0X80.0X10.9 (mm) and it weighs 260 grams. To sweeten the deal, the company is offering three back shells (black, white and blue) free with this phablet.Read more

In an earlier report, Gizbot did an exclusive report based on the information provided by an inside resource from LG, claiming that the Korean tech giant will announce a new Optimus smartphone in India this week. The report also informed that it might be the launch of Optimus Vu, analyzing the trend of the latest LG smartphones launched in the Indian market.
Well, it did turn out to be true, as today LG has officially launched the Optimus Vu phablet in India at a price of Rs 34,500. Optimus Vu was initially unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2012 in February and was released in Korea. Also, Optimus Vu has made scoring sales in Korea with over 500,000 units.

Chinese telecommunications equipment maker Huawei is firming up plans to manufacture smartphones for the Indian market out of its facility in Chennai, which already makes networking equipment. This will help support its plans to expand its presence to over 200 cities with 20,000 outlets in three years.
In a report by Financial Chronicle on Sunday, Huawei said that it was “currently conducting quality evaluations and sorting out supply chain issues”. The firm presently makes handsets in China and oursources some production to Foxconn.
Victor Shan, president of Huawei India’s device business department, said in the article: “Low-level feature phones are preferred in rural areas while smartphones are preferred in tier I and tier II cities.” He added that tier I cities accounted for 60 percent of its smartphone sales there . Finnish mobile handset-maker Nokia on Wednesday launched Nokia 808 PureView, a 41 megapixel camera phone, in the Indian market priced at Rs.33,899.
“Nokia 808 PureView represents Nokia’s highest level of smartphone imaging experiences, resulting in a smartphone that has set new standards in mobile technology,” said Vipul Mehrotra, director and head of smart devices, Nokia India.
