I Let Rekha Pick the Gift.
We Nearly Didn’t Make It Back.
“Selecting a wedding gift sounds simple — until Rekha gets involved. Suddenly it’s a three-hour expedition, seventeen opinions, and one very confused husband holding a vase he doesn’t understand.”

Conversation between an Indian man and a British woman
My father often told me: “The son never sits in the British Empire.” As a result I forced myself to be active – getting up at 5 am and going to bed at 10 pm – and achieving a lot of things as I grew into a full-blown-up man. My father is no more, but I still don’t sit. My world came down crashing when yesterday I realized that my father had been saying the line wrong. It is actually: “The sun never sets in the British Empire.”

Poem: On how Rekha & I got married
I have known Rekha for ten years now. When I first saw her, she was wearing a dirty blue T-Shirt and a jean. The only problem was the coconut oil in her hair…but what do you expect of a girl from a small village in Kerala? In the last ten years we have been married for six (Rekha, am I correct?). We have had our ups and downs….and in between also gained some pounds. But I would have had it no other way. She is the lady after my heart & stomach too!

Australian Zebra Finch Birds – my first pet at age 35 years
There were times when my wife Rekha called me a Dog. You got to give it to her for being appropriate – she never addressed me as a dog in front of strangers & relatives. It was reserved for occasions when we were alone – especially, when we were in the bedroom. “You are a dog. Can’t you understand a simple ‘No’?” This post is about how I managed to get a pet inside our house though my wife still hates animals, birds & fish. When they are alive.
